IIS Annual Operation Winter Warmth

Approximately 55.5 percent of the population in South Africa is living in poverty, and 25 percent are experiencing food poverty. The bulk of these can not even afford descent clothing.

“O Children of Adam! We have certainly sent down to you garments to cover your nakedness, and for adornment…” – Quran 7:26.

Annually, the Institute for Islamic Services conducts Operation Winter Warmth, where thousands of indigent people in the following places are clothed: Special Needs Schools, Street Dwellers, Shelters, Informal Settlements, Care Centres, Old Age Homes, Schools below bread-line etc.
