Migrants’ Situation at Embassies Continues to Worsen

The humanitarian situation facing displaced migrants sheltering at various embassies in Pretoria continues to deteriorate with each passing day. As families wait in hope of being repatriated to their home countries, many are enduring extremely difficult living conditions with limited access to food, shelter, and other essential necessities.

Women, children, and the elderly remain among the most vulnerable, facing daily uncertainty while living outdoors. As the number of people requiring assistance continues to grow, so too does the demand for humanitarian relief and community support.

The Institute for Islamic Services (IIS) remains steadfast in its commitment to serving those in need through its daily feeding schemes and relief programmes. Every day, volunteers work tirelessly to provide warm meals and other essential assistance to displaced migrants waiting for repatriation, ensuring that they are not forgotten during this challenging period.

Guided by the teachings of Islam, the Institute believes that compassion knows no borders. The example of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) teaches us to care for the hungry, support the vulnerable, and show mercy to all people regardless of their background or circumstances. These principles continue to inspire IIS in its mission of humanitarian service.

While the challenges continue to increase, so does our determination to provide hope, dignity, and practical assistance to those affected.
