Precious Moments at the IIS Senior Citizens Get-Together

The Institute for Islamic Services (IIS) continues to celebrate and honour the invaluable contributions of our senior citizens through its regular Senior Citizens Get-Togethers. On 21 July 2026, elderly members of the community gathered for a memorable day filled with fun, quizzes, games, laughter, education, delicious lunch, and meaningful companionship, creating precious memories in a warm and welcoming environment.

Growing older should never mean growing lonely. These gatherings provide an opportunity for senior citizens to socialise, build lasting friendships, and enjoy quality time together while participating in engaging activities that promote mental stimulation, emotional well-being, and physical activity. From interactive quizzes and entertainment to shared meals and heartfelt conversations, every moment is designed to bring joy and encouragement.

Alhamdulillah, the Institute regularly treats elderly members of the community with love, respect, gifts, and ongoing support. These special occasions offer a welcome break from the stresses of everyday life, allowing participants to relax, laugh, and “detox” from the pressures of isolation and loneliness while strengthening their sense of belonging within the community.

Inspired by the noble example of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), who taught the importance of honouring and caring for the elderly, the Institute remains committed to ensuring that senior citizens are treated with dignity, compassion, and appreciation. Their wisdom, life experiences, and contributions continue to enrich our families and communities, and they deserve to be celebrated.
