Extravagant Life: Shaytaan’s way of Life…

“ Indeed, the wasteful are brothers of the devils, and ever has Satan been to his Lord ungrateful.” (Qur’an 17:27).

Islam advocates balance and moderation in every aspect of life.

Extravagance , or wasteful spending, is a behavior strictly prohibited in Islam because it not only leads to societal and personal detriment / destruction, but poses such a danger that it leads to unparalleled greed.

What is happening now in Sudan is a typical example of extreme greed caused by an example of capitalistic extravagancy.
Every war is an economy. The war imposed on Sudan is no different. Arms, logistics, minerals, and reconstruction are all sources of profit for those who keep the fire burning.

The greedy networks funding the RSF overlap with those that profit from wars in Libya, Yemen, and even Gaza. The same companies that sell weapons also buy gold. The same banks that freeze Sudanese assets facilitate transfers for foreign arms deals. The same greedy countries that say Africa can’t govern itself, siphon billions out of the continent every year to finance their extravagant lives.

All the glitter and glamour that we see in countries in the West and Middle East is a result of uncontrolled lifestyle of extravagancy. It starts off on an individual basis, then goes on to national and international level.

“ And He it is Who produces gardens trellised and untrellised, date palms, crops of different shape and taste, olives, and pomegranates — similar and dissimilar. Eat of their fruit when they ripen, but pay their due (zakat) on the day of harvest, and waste not by extravagance. Verily, He likes not the wasteful. ” (Qur’an 6:141).
