Daily Feeding Schemes Serving Communities Across Pretoria

The Institute for Islamic Services (IIS) remains dedicated to alleviating hunger and supporting vulnerable communities through its Daily Feeding Schemes, which operate every Monday to Saturday across various areas in and around Pretoria. Guided by the Islamic principles of compassion, generosity, and service, these outreach programmes provide nutritious meals and hope to individuals and families experiencing hardship.

Our weekly feeding programme serves the following communities:

• Monday: Mooiplaas

• Tuesday: Danville

• Wednesday: Itereleng

• Thursday: Olivenhoutbosch

• Friday: Laudium

• Saturday: IIS Madressahs

Through these regular feeding initiatives, IIS reaches hundreds of people every week, ensuring that disadvantaged families, children, and the elderly receive the nourishment they need while fostering a spirit of unity and compassion within our communities.

In addition to our community feeding schemes, the Institute for Islamic Services also provides daily humanitarian assistance to displaced migrant families who have sought refuge at the Nigerian, Malawian, Zimbabwean, and Mozambican Embassies in Hatfield, Pretoria. These families, many of whom have been displaced from communities across South Africa, receive hot meals, clean drinking water, and other essential support while awaiting repatriation.

The example of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) teaches us that feeding the hungry and caring for those in need are among the greatest acts of worship. Inspired by these timeless values, the Institute for Islamic Services continues to serve all people with dignity, kindness, and sincerity, regardless of their nationality or background.
