A Message of Appreciation from the Honourable Ambassador of Malawi to South Africa

The Institute for Islamic Services (IIS) is deeply honoured and humbled to receive a message of appreciation and gratitude from the Honourable Ambassador of Malawi to South Africa in recognition of the Institute’s ongoing humanitarian efforts in serving displaced migrants seeking refuge at the Malawi Embassy in Pretoria.

Since the outbreak of xenophobic unrest affecting various parts of South Africa, the Institute has remained steadfast in its commitment to supporting vulnerable migrant families with compassion and dignity. Every day, IIS provides hot meals, clean drinking water, fresh fruit, warm hats, scarves, and other essential items to displaced individuals who have sought safety at the embassy while awaiting repatriation to their home country.

Special care is given to women, children, babies, and elderly individuals, ensuring that their immediate needs are met during this challenging period. In addition to food and clothing, the Institute also assists with basic medical needs where possible, offering comfort and relief to those who have experienced uncertainty, displacement, and hardship.

Inspired by the noble teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), the Institute for Islamic Services continues to uphold the Islamic principles of mercy, compassion, and service to humanity. Regardless of nationality, race, or religion, every person in need deserves to be treated with kindness, dignity, and respect. This recognition from the Honourable Ambassador serves as an encouragement to continue fulfilling our mission of Service to Mankind.
